Times and Seasons

Just like the bible says, there is a time and a season for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8).  There have been so many times where I have had the desire to do something but it just wasn’t the right timing.  As I became a mother, I had to learn that children add a whole new dimension to life.  They are not predictable and cannot just take a back seat to your life, nor should they.   They take priority over pretty much everything else!

“The natural state of motherhood is unselfishness. When you become a mother, you are no       longer the center of your own universe. You relinquish that position to your children.” —-Jessica Lange

Running marathons or running at all— even exercise in general may not be possible at times.  Life is an endless cycle of adapting to new circumstances and figuring out what works for you at the time.   Here is some wise council as you consider what works for you in the season you are in.

“Take responsibility for your own physical well-being. Your soul consists of your body and spirit (see D&C 88:15). Feeding the spirit while neglecting the body, which is a temple, usually leads to spiritual dissonance and lowered self-esteem. If you are out of shape, if you are uncomfortable in your own body and can do something about it, then do it!                                                                                                -Jorg Klebingat

Physical exercise will complete you as a mom.  Give that gift to your children so that you can be around to play with them as long as possible! And they will emulate your example and live a healthy, happy life!  Maximize Mommyhood!
